New security level for your child – GLONASS satchel. Now parents can be sure that baby is safe

Russian engineers develop GLONASS Satchel to give parents opportunity to control baby position in real time using any mobile device (mobile phone, smartphone and tablet). Main goal of GLONASS Satchel is to guarantee security of the children when they are alone, without parents.

GLONASS Satchel sends position information on-line, store tracking history and gives an option to display track on the electronic map, can send SMS to parent’s mobile phone in case of emergency, fall or hit and provides distant monitoring of situation in child position. Two-way emergency voice connection can be established by pressing emergency button.

«We develop technological platform, which allows creating different navigational solutions using small GLONASS devices. Opportunities of the platform were demonstrated by GLONASS Satchel, which will help parents to react without delays on emergency situations. They can, for example, make a silent call to listen what happening in the place where the baby now is and send his position to police or emergency services» – comments marketing director of SpaceTeam® holding Svetlana Khadonova.

In the base of functionality of the platform is an in-built special autonomous search security GLONASS tracker. In spite of small size and weight (130 grams) this navigation device supplies high precision of the position, using combine GLONASS / GPS satellite signals and LBS information. GLONASS tracker carries onboard in-build accelerometer to fix falls and hits and emergency «SOS» button. Tracker doesn’t need external power supply. It is autonomous and informs user about low battery level in advance, sending SMS. Using special algorithm, devices switches to sleeping mode in case parents are near which allows minimizing battery power consumption and GPRS traffic.

First time GLONASS Satchel was demonstrated during international forum of innovation development «Open Innovations» that took place in Moscow from 31 of October till 02 of November 2013.

GLONASS Satchel is an experimental sample, constructed using unique technological platform. In-build tracker is a device of new generation with key advantages, such as tiny size, portability, multifunctionality and durability. Combined GLONASS and GPS technology provides high precision of coordinates. Parents can find child position at any time, just using handset with Internet connection. All data will come to mobile phone, smartphone or tablet, as SMS or direct links to the position on the map.
