SpaceTeam® holding has actively entered the Russian navigation market in March 2013. Tight schedule, the developing company had to keep up with, and high market competition have not prevented SpaceTeam® from becoming, within several months, an innovative holding, leading system integrator, developer and vendor of communication and navigation hardware and GLONASS / GPS-based information services.
SpaceTeam® closed the year successfully, which is confirmed primarily by the revenue – more than 700 million rubles reserved the holding a place in TOP-3 leading market competitors with the 17% market share.
By end of the year the holding introduced 11 new models of GLONASS equipment and 9 models of LED equipment, implemented a number of crosscutting GLONASS-based projects with no equals in Russia.
With the assistantship of SpaceTeam® experts, the projects of national standards regarding introduction of GLONASS satellite navigation to Russian transportation network were developed.
What is the SpaceTeam’s formula for success?
First, technological leadership of the SpaceTeam® is explained with dynamic innovative policies, demonstrated by the holding on the market throughout the whole year 2013.
SpaceTeam® has created a briefcase of unique industrial products for transportation monitoring and management (on the base of proprietary telematic platforms ST Matix® and ST Matix Pro®), developed and launched into mass production a line of professional navigation and communication equipment under the STAB® Liner brand, formed a family of specialized business plug-ins, designed for specific needs of clients.
SpaceTeam® has built a business chain of fully close-looped manufacturing cycles, providing the company with operational freedom and high competitiveness. At the end of year 2013 SpaceTeam® has sold more than 50K units of onboard navigation and communication equipment. On the premises of Balakirev Electronics Factory, a part of the SpaceTeam® holding, 11 new models of GLONASS hardware and 90 new models of LED hardware are being produced.

- As a part of ERA-GLONASS project, a GLONASS terminal was developed and, first on the marked, tested by representatives of the Transportation Ministry of Russia and NP «GLONASS».
Third, professional staff of the holding comprised of leading experts of the navigation industry
Throughout the year the vast experience and unique expertise of the SpaceTeam® specialists were used in preparations of the regulatory system referred to introduction of GLONASS navigation technologies to transportation network of Russia. Through the offices of Applied Telematics R&D Institute, the final revision of Russian national standards was developed.
On behalf of Transportation Ministry of Russia, the results of initial stages of research were completed and defended during the sessions of Research and Engineering Council.
«ERA-GLONASS Navigation and Information Platform» contract design, design documentation and software evaluation has been finished, as well as the contract design and design documentation of the «ERA-GLONASS Road emergency service accuracy and reliability adjustment system».
Fourth, a rapid expansion to CIS countries allowed SpaceTeam® holding to extend its market availability to neighboring states and sign contracts for supply of GLONASS solutions to town-forming enterprises of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan
SpaceTeam® has signed a formal agreement concerning creation of a one-stop dealer center in Ashkhabad with a leading technological company of Turkmenistan «AGA Birleshik».
As a part of international cooperation, SpaceTeam® carries out supply of high-tech GLONASS-enabled navigation products for the purposes of modernization and reinforcement of the transportation network of Turkmenistan. Additionally, SpaceTeam expertise will be applied during development of industrial navigation and information systems for oil and gas industry, chemical industry and utilities sector.
Fifth, a proactive approach to corporate and regional policies of SpaceTeam® (OPENSPACE programm)
In May 2013 management of the holding decided to launch OPENSPACE, a strategic program for future scaling of business within the navigation market of Russia and CIS.
It took less than a year for the holding to win partner’s trust, prove high expert grades of the OPESPACE program and significantly improve the level of partner engagement creating united navigation and information environment.
