The entire transportation complex of the Chechen Republic comes under the control of GLONASS. The Russia's first integrated regional navigation and information system was recently launched In Grozny. It is expected that up to 2000 vehicles will be connected to the system by the end of 2015. The system was based on SpaceTeam® innovative technical solutions. The system provides the ability to control different types of vehicles and machinery, and ensure the safety of passenger and freight transportation.
Regional system of the Chechen Republic has already entered into commercial operation. Dispatchers receives real-time navigation data on the movement of passenger transport and school buses; vechicles transporting dangerous, heavy and special cargo; the state authorities vehicles; emergency services; road and agricultural machinery.
Dispatching service implements wide opportunities for public transport control (including scheduling, routes development, etc.), operational management (violations control, sending messages to the driver), vehicle control and monitoring (location, mileage, speed enforcement, remote diagnostics ), processing of alarm messages from the driver, and many others.
The technological basis of the system is telematic platform ST Matix®. The platform supports more than 100 different types of on-board navigation and telecom GLONASS/GPS equipment (AVL-terminals) and flexible opportunities for server-to-server information exchange.
"Single point of entry improves the efficiency of management of a transportation complex of the Republic. Navigation data will be available for interested users and transport companies for the purpose of operational control and management, and for executive authorities in order to control the quality of services. The system will also ensure the safety of passengers and transport safety, high quality transport services for the citizens" said officials of the Republic.
